Tinghir

Oasis at the Edge of the Desert

Tinghir is a prosperous oasis town surrounded by one of Morocco's largest and most fertile palm groves. Situated between the High Atlas foothills and the pre-Saharan landscape, it serves as the gateway to the Todgha Gorge. The palm oasis stretches for kilometres and is home to traditional Berber communities, old kasbahs and Amazigh women's cooperatives producing hand-woven rugs.
